Power, often overlooked as a training principle, is a crucial element that I frequently observe being underestimated among athletes, spanning from middle-school level all the way up to the professional level. While many tend to associate power with strength training, it is important to recognize that strength and power are distinct concepts. Power is defined as the capacity to exert explosive force dynamically. It requires specific training and continuous maintenance, particularly because numerous athletes do not possess the fast-twitch muscle fibers necessary to generate power effectively in their respective sports. Therefore, we emphasize the development and enhancement of power as a key focus in our training programs, acknowledging its significance in optimizing athletic performance.
